Signs your brakes need work

Brakes are the one job nobody wants to put off, and the one where shops love to oversell. Most people come in after one of these.

A squeal when you brake. That's often the wear indicator telling you the pads are low.
Grinding or a shake in the pedal or steering wheel.
A soft or low pedal, or the car pulling when you brake. Left alone, worn pads eat the rotors.
Gloved hands checking a brake rotor with a flashlight
A tidy tire and auto repair shop with cars on lifts and tire racks
How we fix it

What happens at the shop

We take the wheels off and look before we quote. No guessing from the parking lot.

We measure the pads and check the rotors, calipers and brake fluid.
You get the price for what's actually worn, pads and rotors per axle.
New pads and rotors go on, and we test the brakes before you leave.
Afterwards

Questions

Brake repair questions

What people ask before they pull in.

How much does a brake job cost?

Pads and rotors start at $550 per axle, depending on the car. A brake fluid flush is $150. You get the exact price after we've looked, before any work starts.

Do my brakes come with a warranty?

Yes. Pads and rotors come with a 2-year or 24,000-mile warranty, whichever comes first.

Why is my car squealing when I brake?

Often it's the wear indicator, a small metal tab that squeals when the pads get low. Grinding usually means the pads are gone and metal is touching the rotor, so come in soon.

Do you replace rotors every time?

We replace what's worn. We measure the rotors and show you before you decide.

Do I need an appointment?

No. We're walk-in only, first come, first served, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 4pm. Closed Sunday.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes. We take cash, cards, Zelle and Apple Pay, and you can spread a bigger bill with Affirm or Acima.
